Monkey Tree is a play and nursery center for children ranging from 6 months to 6 years of age. We focus on developing motor functions and building the social skills that students need in order to cultivate a passion for growth and learning.
Monkey Tree was established in 2018 with the aim of creating a new learning center for children that is both fun and educational through active learning and learning through inquiry. We focus on play through learning in order to make sure our classes are always fun and engaging for all our students. Besides academics, Monkey Tree prioritizes the student’s safety and comfort, as we are aware that the learning environment plays a huge role in determining the student’s academic development. Our operator’s experience in working for international schools overseas has helped Monkey Tree provide quality education to children and helped Monkey Tree students prepare for formal schooling.
To develop innovative, creative, and collaborative learners who will cultivate a passion for lifelong learning.
Monkey is recognized for developing passionate learners who are able to think creatively, communicate effectively, and collaborate efficiently while still knowing how to have fun. Our curriculum, teaching staff, and learning environment shows excellence, dedication, and integrity towards fun learning.
Monkey Tree’s curriculum is designed to help our students learn and grow through play, stimulate and enhance motor skills through singing and dancing, and develop academically through the introduction of letters, numbers, and colors.
We create lesson plans that are based on inquiry that will shape students to think further and develop reasoning. Our aim is for students to enhance their critical thinking skills, improve their communication skills, and broaden their understanding of the world around them.
We designed our curriculum that will help our students excel not only academically, but also socially.
Monkey Tree offers two programs, the Jungle class and the Forest class, that is a mix of fun and educational for our students.
This class provides activities for children aged 6 months to 4 years old. The Jungle Class program builds children confidence and stimulate children motoric skill by playing, singing and dancing. We have 3 levels for the Jungle Class:
Infant for 6 Months to Walking
Jumping for Walking to 2 Years
Swinging for 2 Years to 4 Years
This class provides activities for children aged 16 months to 4 years old. The Forest Class program encourages children to be more independent and support their knowledge by learning numbers, colors and letters. We have 2 levels for Forest Class:
Banana for 16 Months to 2 Years
Apple for 2 Years to 4 Years
We design activities in Monkey Tree based on big themes and smaller units. Our themes will change each term, while our units change every month.
Monkey Tree is pleased to offer both Nursery 1 (N1) and Nursery 2 (N2) programs. Our nursery programs prepare our students to advance to the next steps in their academic life. The nursery programs focuses more on academic learning where students will learn how to improve their writing, speaking, and listening skills through the activities and tasks we have prepared. Besides academic learning, students will still have time to enjoy physical activities that will require them to dance and sing! The nursery program is one level above our forest class and the goal is to get our students ready for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten.
The kindergarten program at Monkey Tree focuses on the development of the whole-child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. Students will be introduced to Mandarin starting from Kindergarten 1. This is the prime age of when a third language can be taught to a child. Learning in Kindergarten is more hands on as students will have weekly Science Experiment classes and/or Cooking classes. Our program challenge students to be inquirers by providing them with opportunities to take risks and try new things in a community where they feel safe, happy, and valued in order to uncover understandings through a concept driven, inquiry-based curriculum framework.
Class Schedule Breakdown
This is an example of what a typical hour will look like in one of our classes. Please note that this is just an example and changes may occur depending on the current unit and what the teacher thinks is best.
Uniform and Dress Code
Monkey Tree students adhere to a dress code that we believe promotes a sense of orderliness and school community, and reduces “fashion competition”. Our students are expected to wear our polo shirt and navy blue shorts or trousers.
We also advise students to wear shoes and socks. Shoes and socks can be of any color as long as they are deemed appropriate for school.
Students are to be dropped off by their guardian (parent, nanny, etc.) 5-10 minutes before each class sessions is about to begin.
Monkey Tree prioritizes safety and comfort and for this reason, a child will not be let outside of our doors unless a guardian with a pickup ID is present to pick up the child.
