The First Place To Learn Things!

Preparing Future Inspirers, Today!

Welcome

Monkey Tree is an early childhood education center for children ages 6 months to 6 years of age. We focus on the development of the whole child by providing opportunities for children to learn, play, and grow. Students will be challenged in their four main areas of development; social/emotional development, cognitive development, physical development, and language development.

Monkey Tree was established in 2018 with the aim of creating a new learning center for children that is both fun and educational through active learning and learning through inquiry. We focus on play through learning in order to make sure our classes are always fun and engaging for all our students. Besides academics, Monkey Tree prioritizes the student’s safety and comfort, as we are aware that the learning environment plays a huge role in determining the student’s academic development. With numerous experiences in managing international schools both in Indonesia and overseas, our management team is confident Monkey Tree will provide academic excellence and a memorable learning journey for our students.

Our Values

Mission

To develop innovative, creative, and collaborative learners who will cultivate a passion for lifelong learning.

Vision

Monkey is recognized for developing passionate learners who are able to think creatively, communicate effectively, and collaborate efficiently while still knowing how to have fun. Our curriculum, teaching staff, and learning environment shows excellence, dedication, and integrity towards fun learning.

Learning

Learning

Monkey Tree’s curriculum is designed to help our students learn and grow through play, stimulate and enhance motor skills through singing and dancing, and develop academically through the introduction of letters, numbers, and colors.

We create lesson plans that are based on inquiry that will motivate students to think further and develop reasoning. Our goal is for students to enhance their critical thinking skills, improve their communication skills, and broaden their understanding of the world around them by challenging them just beyond their current level of mastery.

Academic Programs

Monkey Tree offers Toddler, Nursery, and Kindergarten program. Through our program, students will learn to grow their confidence and be active learners in school. Our teaching program focuses on learning through play aimed at improving the four main areas of development. Students will be taught by varying methods to provide opportunities for social/emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.

Jungle Class

This class provides activities for children aged 6 months to 4 years old. The focus of Jungle Class is to stimulate a child’s motor and sensory skills through playing, singing, and dancing!

We have 3 levels for the Jungle Class:

Infant for 6 Months to Walking
Jumping for Walking to 2 Years
Swinging for 2 Years to 4 Years

Forest Class

This class provides activities for children aged 16 months to 4 years old. The Forest Class program encourages children to be more independent and supporta their knowledge by learning numbers, colors and letters.

We have 2 levels for Forest Class:

Banana for 16 Months to 2 Years
Apple for 2 Years to 4 Years

We design activities based on big themes containing smaller units. Themes will change each term while units will change every month. Take a look at one of our themes.

Nursery Class

Monkey Tree is pleased to offer both Nursery 1 (N1) and Nursery 2 (N2) programs. Our nursery program introduces the concept of open exploration where students will have the opportunity to freely explore their environment to encourage them to become inquirers. The nursery programs focuses more on academic learning where students will learn how to improve their writing, speaking, and listening skills through the activities and tasks we have prepared. Besides academic learning, students will have time to enjoy physical activities that will require them to dance and sing and develop their social-emotional skills through group work activities.

Kindergarten Class

The Kindergarten program at Monkey Tree focuses on the development of the whole-child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world outside. Students will be introduced to Mandarin starting from Kindergarten 1. This is the prime age of when a third language can be taught to a child. Learning in Kindergarten is more hands on as students will have weekly Science Experiment classes and Life skills classes. Our program challenge students to be inquirers by providing them with opportunities to take risks and try new things in an environment where they feel safe, happy, and valued in order to uncover understandings through a concept driven, inquiry-based curriculum framework.

Student Life

Mandarin Language

At Monkey Tree, Kindergarten students will be introduced to weekly Mandarin lessons. Mandarin is becoming a key language in the world and being able to communicate in more than one international language is an essential skill.

Learning Mandarin helps to develop accurate hearing and interpretation of sounds. Children can become more adept at visual communication and readily interpret symbols in visual arts. Mandarin has been proven to improve soft motor skills as writing characters requires fine strokes with differing pressures and to improve math skills as proper sequences for writing characters are important.

After School Activities

At Monkey Tree, we are committed to providing learning opportunities for our students beyond academics.

After School Activities provide opportunities for students to pursue their passions and discover new hobbies. Students will be able to explore and experience their current and new hobbies in a safe and controlled environment. Our After School Activities are taught by outsourced professionals that will be supervised by our teachers.

Starting from Nursery, students will have the ability to choose from numerous After School Activities. We realize that hobbies and interests play an important role in every child’s developmental growth and we highly encourage students to take part in at least one of our After School Activity programs.

As our student body grows, we will be adding more After School Activities options. Don’t see an After School Activity that your child is interested in? Let us know and we will see the possibility of starting a new one!

Events

Here at Monkey Tree, we love to commemorate both Indonesian and world events. We introduce and familiarize our students with multi-cultural events to foster an awareness of unity in diversity. From Kartini Day to United Nations Day, we celebrate it all by dressing up and participating in event-themed activities!

Field Trips

Field trips are an important part of our school program. Field trip goals include exposure to learning experiences for the students that are directly related to the curriculum. It is important that students understand learning can take place anywhere and not just inside the classroom.

We encourage all students to participate in field trips as it will be a great learning experience. Students will have the chance to see real-world applications of what they have been studying in class. We aim to teach students that learning can happen anywhere.

Uniform and Dresscode

Monkey Tree students adhere to a dress code that we believe promotes a sense of orderliness and school community, and reduces “fashion competition”. Our students are expected to wear our polo shirt and navy blue shorts or trousers.

Monkey Tree will have events where students can dress up or wear costumes to commemorate the event we are celebrating at the time.

We also advise students to wear shoes and socks. Shoes and socks can be of any color as long as they are deemed appropriate for school.

Health and Safety

Pick up and Drop off Safety Procedures

Students are to be dropped off by their guardian (parents, nanny, etc.) 5-10 minutes before each class session is about to begin. We ask that students come on time during their school day. Students are to be picked up on time during their dismissal time.

Upon arrival at Monkey Tree, all students and parents and/or guardians will be asked to disinfect their hands using our hand sanitizers. Our staff member will check all students’ body temperatures. A student whose body temperature is 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher will not be permitted to enter school grounds. Parents and/or guardians need to check in their child via Monkey Tree’s mobile app.

Upon dismissal, our staff members will hand over students to their respective parents and/or guardians and if no adult is present, the student will be asked to wait. Parents and/or guardians will have to check out their child once their child is handed over to them via our mobile app. Students will not be allowed to leave school premises if their parents/and or guardian is not present. Parents/and or guardians are required to inform the school if someone else is picking up their child at school.
